Even A Monkey could do it... Or could they?

The market is so busy that someone recently said that even a

monkey could sell a home right now. It is true that many homes that

failed to sell after months on the market last year, have been quickly

snapped up in 2015. However, just getting a home sold should not

be the only objective. Sellers want the highest price and the best

contract terms....monkeys do not have the skills necessary to achieve

these outcomes.

It is much easier to sell homes in this hot market but getting the best

price requires extensive marketing; excellent presentation of the

house; and expert negotiation skills. All of these things can push

the selling price up significantly with the ability to negotiate being

of particular importance. While most realtors don’t have negotiation

training, I have had significant training/experience negotiating (having

practiced law for 20 years) which is very helpful in obtaining optimal

results for my sellers.

Your home is likely your most important asset and the current market

is fabulous for sellers....but hiring the most skilled person available for

the job is still critical for the best result. So maybe a monkey could

do it, but the result would not be optimal!
