The Most Haunted Halloween House

Blog by Patricia Houlihan - Personal Real Estate Corporation | October 26th, 2013

With Halloween just around the corner, this week I thought I would talk about one of the scariest haunted houses in Vancouver—the Dunbar Haunted House. This spooky home is a favorite destination for Halloween die-hards across the city and for all those who just love a great scare.  Since its erection in 2004, this haunt has become a favorite attraction for children and adults alike, with thousands of dollars raised for local charities every year.

Run by two local Dunbar families and hundreds of volunteers, the Dunbar Haunted House is composed of a labyrinth of highly staged rooms, each filled with a unique collection of spooks.  This year’s haunt features a snapshot of horrific moments in ancient, medieval and modern history. The sets include Egyptian Necropolis, Greek Tragedy, Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, sorcery, the plague, piracy, and the asylum. Visitors are encouraged to pass through and take in the terrifying displays.

If you haven’t visited this amazing display, I highly encourage you to do so-I hate being scared and my kids aren’t yet 5 so we won’t be there! This is the final year of the Dunbar Haunted house and it is expected to be better than ever.  Admission is by donation and all proceeds go to local charities. The Haunted house runs from October 15- 31st. Please note that due to its enormous popularity, line-ups can be long (up to one hour), but I have heard it is well worth the wait!
