The Vancouver housing market can often be overwhelming for many prospective homebuyers; however, with the latest development boom in the Marine Drive- Cambie Street area, South Vancouver is looking to be the next real estate hot spot for the city. Cambie Street has been an area of focus for the city. With the opening of the Canada Line, areas as the Cambie Corridor have seen a dramatic increase in community development. The City of Vancouver has set forth numerous initiatives, including the Cambie Corridor Plan, to enhance environmental sustainability, livability and affordability for neighbourhoods.
The latest development project for the area is the Marine Gateway by the PCI Group. This project will combine residential condominiums, rental housing, office buildings and retail space to the area surrounding the Marine Drive rapid transit station.
MC2 is another development project proposed for the Cambie Corridor area by Intracorp. This project will combine 440 residential units, 110 rental units and retail space.
By transforming industrial South Vancouver into a mixed-use area, this will allow individuals to work, live and shop within the space. Rapid transit access will also dramatically densify the Corridor by providing easy access for homeowners, shoppers and workers.
Future development for the Cambie Corridor is looking strong. Condominiums have already sold out for the Marine Gateway project and buyer attention continues to rise in the area.
