Vancouver Family Day Events

What are your plans for B.C.’s first ever Family Day? Do you plan on sleeping in and lazing about? Or are you going to spend time with family and friends and get active? To make your long weekend packed full of fun and excitement, here is a list of great events going on in Vancouver.


1. Family Day at Robson Square

February 11, 2013, from 7:00am to 11:30pm. Located at Robson Square (aka Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza: 750 Hornby Street, Vancouver)

Celebrate Family Day this year at Robson Square! Participate in fun educational activities, free ice-skating, face painting and enjoy performances from Said the Whale. Everyone welcome.


2. Ski/Board 24 Hours at Grouse Mountain

February 9 and 10th. Located at Grouse Mountain Resort. 

Celebrate the three-year anniversary of the 2010 Winter Olympics at Grouse Mountain Ski Resort. To make this anniversary extra special, the mountain will be open around the clock. Snowshoe, ski, snowboard, or participate in a hockey tournament or torch relay, there are plenty of activities going on to keep you busy day or night! For more information click here.


3. Family Day at the Vancouver Art Gallery

February 11, 2013, from 12:00pm-4:00pm. Located at 750 Hornby Street, Vancouver.

Come out and enjoy Family Day at the Vancouver Art Gallery. See a special presentation of “The Making Place” and participate in fun workshops and activities with the entire family. Everyone welcome. Click here for more information.


4. Valentine’s Day Party

Sunday, February 10th, 12:30pm-2:30pm, Killarney Community Centre, 6260 Killarney Street, Vancouver

Get ready for Valentine’s Day this long weekend by making lovely crafts and delicious goodies to share with your family and friends. For ages 6-12. Pre-registration is required.


5. Jan Ken Pon at the Nikkei Museum & Heritage Centre

Saturday, February 9th, 1pm- 4pm, Nikkei Museum & Heritage Centre, 6688 Southoaks Crescent, Burnaby.

Have fun with the family this long weekend and play with over 20 traditional Japanese heritage games and toys. Make your own sumo wrestlers and beanbags and participate in an epic rock-paper-scissors tournament! For ages 4-12. Click here for more information.
